The successful applicant will need to possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good oral and written skills, attention to detail, and a good understanding of forecasting, budgeting, and operational/financial accounting concepts (GAAP, IFRS, and revenue recognition). Candidates in this role will be expected to work closely with other finance members, Project Managers, and other members of the Halvik leadership team.
Job Responsibilities
As a Project Control Analyst, you will:
- Coordinate all financial aspects of the assigned programs and/or portfolio, forecast/budget, and reporting and analyzing results.
- Support the full life cycle of contracts including project & workforce setup and maintenance, revenue recognition & cost accruals, monthly forecasting & variance analysis, journal entries, etc. Partner and support accounting as needed on invoicing and billing.
- Calculate revenue and expenses in accordance with HALVIK policies, including accruals
- Perform detailed reporting and analyses of monthly financial information to include revenue and cost
- Support project reviews, opportunity and delivery review meetings as well as ongoing audits with accurate financial data and beneficial financial analyses.
- Set-up projects with different contract types (Cost-Plus, T&M, Fixed-Price) including proper billing and revenue terms. Ensure that project set-ups and modifications are entered into Unanet in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
- Maintain Unanet project information including contract/funding values, period of performance, line of business, project labor categories, etc.
- Collaborate across Finance and other departments such as Contracts, Accounting, Human Resources, and Operations to ensure accuracy and to collect data regarding project related issues.
- Maintain open communication with direct management regarding financial results and ensure awareness of risks and
- Prepare and effectively review Estimate-At-Complete (EAC) and Estimate-To-Complete (ETC) analyses.
- Review and monitor project funding and expenditures for contract 75% Limitation of Funds notification.
- Support internal and external audits and ensures policies and procedures are met.
- Prepare operational review reports and other ad hoc reporting.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of general and corporate business practices, government contracting regulations and principles, and accounting and finance principles
- Sophisticated knowledge of Excel (e.g., formulas, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables).
- Strong communications skills.
- Extreme attention to detail is required. Ability to handle multiple concurrent work streams while maintaining high quality output
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance or accounting or related subject area
- Project control experience and comprehensive knowledge of service type cost reimbursable, fixed priced, and commercial contracts required
- Demonstrated experience with financial modelling and data analytics
- 1+ years of finance/accounting experience in Federal government contracting
- 1+ years' experience with Unanet and Deltek Business Intelligence or other government compliant ERP Systems
