Sr Systems Engineer
Fully Remote
Clearance: Secret
The Senior Systems Engineer shall be responsible for supervising operations and maintenance activities for data communications networks and complex, multi-tier operational environments. Should the Army elect to move ATRRS to the cloud, the Senior Systems Engineer shall be responsible for overseeing the process, referred to as migration; maintaining the new system; and implementing, supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the network hardware, software, and communications links of the ATRRS cloud infrastructure. The Senior Systems Engineer shall have, at a minimum, 5 years of experience in the following:
- An environment similar to ATRRS in terms of size and complexity.
- Conducting protocol analysis, along with demonstrated knowledge of LAN and WAN data communications protocols (TCP/IP, ATM, frame relay, X.400, and X.500).
- Planning and performing fault management, configuration control, change management, and performance monitoring.
- Engineering, implementing and documenting solutions based upon customer requirements, development team feedback and best practices that meet or exceed customer performance expectations.
- Conducting activation, back-up, deactivation, and restart of network and system resources/services.
- Providing support in relation to troubleshooting communication devices, hardware and software, LAN/MAN/WAN and other network related problems, as well as security incidents.
- Performing and supervising general data network and systems administration, and providing technical leadership in the integration and testing of complex, large scale networks and multi-tier operational environments.
- Scheduling network conversions and cutovers.
- Scheduling operational environment improvements.
- Supervising maintenance of all operational environment activities (e.g., Communications, Storage, Security, HW, and SW).
- Coordinating with users, technical teams, and senior management throughout all network sites.
- Designing, planning, managing, maintaining, supporting, and performing any other technological duties associated with an organization's cloud computing environment.
