You'll work under the guidance of senior engineers to deliver reliable, compliant software for our USPTO/IDE product lines, while growing your cloud and full-stack capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product owners and designers to implement features from requirements to deployment in AWS-based environments.

- Work with PostgreSQL 17 for relational data storage, schema design, and query optimization.
- Write clean, testable code, participate in code reviews, and contribute to unit and integration tests.
- Assist with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation); help maintain secure, auditable deployments.
- Help monitor application health, respond to incidents with guidance from seniors, and support basic observability (CloudWatch, Splunk).
- Contribute to documentation, coding standards, and security best practices appropriate for government environments.
- Support data ingestion, logging, and observability requirements as part of data governance initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 0–2 years of full-stack development experience.
- Foundational knowledge of at least one front-end framework (React, Angular, or Vue) and one backend framework/language; experience with Spring Boot 3.x is strongly preferred.
- Practical experience or coursework with PostgreSQL (preferably PostgreSQL 17) and basic database concepts (SQL).
- Basic familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/Aurora, IAM) and core cloud concepts.
- Understanding of RESTful API design and basic database concepts (SQL or NoSQL).
- Basic knowledge of version control (Git) and the software development lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn in a regulated environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD concepts.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and basic orchestration (ECS/EKS) is a plus.
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, or similar).
- Awareness of security fundamentals, data privacy, and secure coding practices in government contexts.
- U.S. Government or regulated industry experience or interest in government work.

- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship (or per internal policy).
